As a South Maui community, Kihei possesses an incredible waterfront location, with condos and resorts lining the coast—which is one of the reasons why Kihei is such a desirable place to call home. Homebuyers searching for the perfect vacation property have a lot of choice, especially as most of the real estate on the Kihei market comprises condos.
Condos for sale in Kihei offer incredible views of the ocean sunsets. Unlike other Hawaii cities and large communities, Kihei’s condos consist of only low-rise and mid-rise buildings. With limited space, not all of the condo buildings overlook the waterfront, which is why these properties are typically listed at higher price points—even by Kihei standards.
In regards to condo features, units (much like single-family homes) are available in a range, suitable for different needs. On average, a one-bedroom condo in Kihei sits around 500 square feet to 900 square feet, with the majority of available units falling closer to the former. Its commercial buildings tend to be located along South Kihei Road, with the heart of the Kihei found where this main road intersects with Lipoa Street. Kihei Shopping Center, Piilani Village Shopping Center, Rainbow Mall/Dolphin Plaza, and Kukui Mall are the shopping and dining hubs of the community, featuring both small, local businesses and larger chain stores. This is where one can buy groceries, send off some mail, do banking, dine out with the family, and even go to the gym.
Condo amenities, like anywhere else, vary from building to building. Complexes offer some of the basics, such as an outdoor pool for residents and parking spaces, as well as barbeque areas, tennis courts, or beach access (the latter when applicable, of course). Villas are often very private and gated, with lush landscaping for additional privacy.
