Welcome to our new series Weekend Living, where we take you through what a day off can look like in the different Maui areas. Today we are starting with Kihei!
Considered the drier side of Maui, some perks of Kihei include it’s variety of beaches, walkability, and great array of dining options.
Where to eat breakfast:
There are plenty of places to grab a coffee and a light breakfast, such as Akamai Coffee (their Kihei location has a drive through for those on the go), or The Frontroom.
Looking for a more robust first meal of the day? Check out the popular Kihei Caffe or Nalu’s South Shore Grill.
Where to spend your morning:
We recommend the beach of course! Perks of hitting the beach earlier in the day include calmer wind and waters, making it an ideal time to paddleboard, kayak, and snorkel. Mana Kai has convenient parking and is good for all the aforementioned activities, while the pool-like waters of Kalepolepo Beach Park is convenient for very small children.
Where to eat lunch:
The South Maui Gardens hosts a plethora of food trucks, making it a sure fire way to make everyone happy! Da Green Coffee Bar is also there for a mid-day caffeine pick-me-up.
Where to spend your afternoon:
If you’re looking to get out of the sun for a bit, you could stop by the Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary Visitor Center to learn about our favorite Maui wildlife. Or do some shopping at any of the many shopping centers, including Kihei Kalama Villages, Dolphin Plaza, or Azeka Shopping Center.
Where to find happy hour:
Raise your hand if you love happy hour- we sure do! Some of our favorites include Maui Brewing Company, Three’s Bar and Grill, and Isana.
Where to find evening entertainment:
